Does gimp compare at all with photoshop?

if you have it, how well does it work?

i'd like to be able to make certain parts of a photo lighter with less color saturation, and other parts with more color saturation. is it good for that?

when you use it, do your photos still come out looking good-quality?

if you have any other suggestions for cheap or free photoshop-type programs, that is appreciated too.

thanks.Does gimp compare at all with photoshop?
Gimp is excellent software and more than capable of doing what you ask. Unless you're a pro that needs the bit depth capability of Photoshop, Gimp will work for you and your picture quality will be very high.Does gimp compare at all with photoshop?
Its pretty close, but you cant compare a freebie with a paid software. Overall though, its gonna be one of the top five photo editing softwares around.
