If you go into the Keystroke area of the configuration, you should be able to *press* Command and the N key to assign it. I'm not sure what you mean by ';just write out command N'; -- typing the words ';command N'; won't work. You USE the keystroke you want to assign, then use the mouse or pen to click OK.

How do you write adobe photoshop key shortcuts when setting a keystroke?
i have a bamboo fun and want to set some key strokes. i have a mac. and when i try to just write out command N for a new document on photoshop it doesnt work. help!!!!How do you write adobe photoshop key shortcuts when setting a keystroke?
