There are lots to choose from...its how you find it easy to use or should i say how you can handle the software with ease. Aside from illustrator, coreldraw, photoshop, there is also Freehand by macromedia, there's Flash if u want to do an animation or want to make ur drawings move. Toonboom Studio is also one, Flipbook for animated drawings or just plain drawings too.For 3d drawings, we have 3dmax studio and Maya softwares too, and so forth. there are lots more easy to learn softwares for graphics and illustratons, its just how u will be able to learn it fast and easily.Beside Photoshop, what are the best graphic and illustration softwares there are?

Corel Draw 8.0. the effects are amazing!! Very large program and helps if you have a wacom tablet too since it's pressure sensitive.
