What's the difference of Photoshop and Indesign?

What is the difference of this two program? because in photoshop we can make brochure business cards, poster and books, so what's the purpose of Indesign? What's the difference of Photoshop and Indesign?
InDesign is for editorial, layout, magazine, books, multiple page document etc. Basically layout.

Photoshop is for image editing. What's the difference of Photoshop and Indesign?
InDesign is a Layout program. Photoshop is bitmap raster. With InDesign you could have sharp type and import a Vector image from Adobe Illustrator. InDesign will keep the files sizes smaller and offer greater precision of placement, plus offer the ability to do updates to your layout.

A very comparable product to InDesign, and superior in my estimation, is Quark Xpress.
